Highly Recommended Howa Mini Upgrade

I got the $10 screw on bolt knob from Legacy Sports that imports the Howa Mini. Cheap but very functional upgrade. It makes cycling the bolt so much easier.

Gotta love the $10 bolt knob and $20 shipping haha. Your post a few weeks back led me down the rabbit hole of searching for bolt knobs for the howa mini. The hollowed out knob definitely seems to make it difficult to find an option for a threaded knob.

The Polished Knob mentioned he welds/fills in the hollowed portion, then can grind it down and thread as normal. I may end up going this route, although that would make it more than the $30 for the legacy knob.

At the very least, glad to hear the legacy knob works well!

The Howa Mini has a very small bolt knob that requires an awkward grip to cycle the action. The oversized bolt knob makes it easier to grip and cycling the bolt smoother and faster.

Do you have a Howa Mini? The factory bolt knob is definitely on the small side for my liking... larger knob = easier grip and better leverage.

Plastic. No problem with me though cause Tikka knobs are plastic.

@General RE LEE I’ve been considering buying a Mini barreled action to “build” my new Predator gun…. But I always come back to the bolt angle as a deterrent. I worry about clearance between my thermal and thick gloves… do you think this knob would solve that? Any chance you can take a video from behind the gun showing how much farther the knob sticks out

Plastic. No problem with me though cause Tikka knobs are plastic.

Tikka bolts are SS not plastic. The trigger guards are still polymer.

No this is just two halves that clamp onto the factory bolt knob.

Is there a barrel/caliber you would want to pick up as a group buy? The balance will go to stock in our store.

Regardless of chambering, if you can sweet talk Howa into it, stainless...

I prefer 20" or 22" light contour. My order of chambering preference for a stainless group buy:
6 ARC
.223
22 ARC

I put those same knobs on my mini’s. Definite improvement for me. Makes it much easier to cycle that bolt.
