Henderson Trimmer - Order of operations

Those with a Henderson timer, do you trim before or after sizing? Seems like before sizing could induce some run out, but after sizing leads to a really tight fit.

I size first, but then use a mandrel to set the neck tension to 0.002 or 0.003 depending on the cartridge. I also apply dry lube to the inside of the necks. Fit is snug, but not enough to induce runout or heat.

Trim after sizing as sizing can change case length. I don’t understand why you think trimming makes for a “tight fit”.

Trimming after sizing makes it tight around the pilot. But I expanded with a mandrel and it worked fine.

Ended up doing this tonight, worked well
