Help me understand hunting with Berger bullets!

Nothing to understand with BURGER bullets.... they are as worst as Barnes X

go with a Nosler AB or ABLR if your shots are mostly over 300.... if not a good old nosler PT for anything below 300yds.
Sierra GMK or TMK solid options too.

Hybrids seem to work “ok”.

300 PRC. 215 hybrid. 330 yards.

The more i shoot Bergers, the more I prefer them over all others. In my experience, they are really easy to find an accurate load for too.

So are the 180 hybrid target bullets good to use on elk and smaller game or do I try to track down 175 elite hunters? They seem to be* impossible to find right now. Trying to work a load up for a 7prc. I’ve tried the 180 ELDM but my rifle doesn’t seem to like them for some reason. Thanks for all the info on here!

Shot a Nilgai at the shoulder, 80 yards, 300 NMI 230 HT @2900 fps, dropped dead at 20 yards, devastating performance.

Another exit from a 215 @ 2600 impact velocity. Very large white tail doe. I drilled out the tips on these to initiate expansion a little sooner. This looks worse than it really is. It performed well and didn't ruin much meat.

7 PRC with 180 hybrid target is a great setup for killing anything in North America. Too much gun really, but it’s more than sufficient.

Not yet, between holiday's and the current below zero weather I've not shot much this month. 70 rounds from a 22 ARC project is all I've shot. Maybe next week since it will be in the 20's again.

The hunting bullets punch pencil holes in game and the target bullets punch massive holes?

My 7prc shoots 180 Hybrid targets really well and my friend swears by them. But I’m hesitant to hunt with a “target” bullet.

I started searching around the forums and reviews are all over the place. I’m so confused.

Anyone hunt with 180 Hybrid Targets?
What am I to believe here? I don’t really feel like taking a chance on a trophy.

this is what a 185 berger did out of my 300 wsm. caliber sized entry cantelope sized exit. i understand its not quite the same but its a similar weight bullet with similar velocity. Every animal ive shot with my 6.5 prc has been with a berger as well, havent had to track one yet.

185 vld in a 300wsm is a nasty combo. Killed a few elk and many deer with it a decade ago.
