Help me understand hunting with Berger bullets!

Good grief the excuses some people make.

No one is losing a substantial amount of meat unless you are shooting them in the ass.
what do you mean….. a rib roll on a deer is like 5 oz of griddle and meat :)

Yall should have just said if you are scared of the hybrid target then use 175 Elite “Hunter”. Although I’m sure someone would argue how to define elite

Even if you’re not “in” the shoulder you can have extensive loss of meat from blood shot and lead fragmentation. Essentially you’re asking to make liver shots if your getting entrance holes this big. As I said, to each his own, but I’m not interested in that much destruction. It’s just not necessary imo. And I don’t remember the last time I had an animal go out of sight after the shot.
But certainly shoot whatever your gun likes and you think you need.

That’s in the shoulder still, aim for the exit 🤣. I hate monos but to each their own,

Ok, humor me. Where is anyone shooting an animal that they are losing a substantial amount of meat with a highly frangible bullet?

And I wasn’t suggesting they are a do all bullet.
The front half on a non-broadside shot. I’ve seen plenty of front quarters and backstraps with substantial meat loss.

Last rifle Elk; quarter away and baseball size hole thru the offside shoulder. Elk turns 90 and partner starts with the "shoot it again" nonsense and like an idiot, I shoot again. Baseball size hole thru the other offside shoulder.
Both fronts are essentially worthless. Complete pass thru's with Berger 195's was impressive but quartering shots are not happening going forward.
Conversely, broadside on Pronghorn, several inches behind the crease and zero meat loss.

Shot several with the 180 vid h this year. Great performance. Couple hogs sub 50 yards. Even better performance. Head shot a doe at 100 yds. I have the pic but don’t know if I should post it. Talk about damage. And they shoot so well
