I just did exactly what you are wanting to do.
Browning X-Bolt Long Range Stalker with a Swarovski Z6 2.5 - 15 x 56mm BT BRH, only problem is its a heavy sob, 10lbs 4oz as shown. I will be heading to the range to try some factory stuff and a couple of loads recommended on the forum multiple times. I am really curious about the brake's effectiveness, but most likely it will wear the thread protector the majority of the time.
