I saw Stevie Ray Vaughan and Robert Cray live at an amphitheater concert just before Stevie's copter crashed.
They were the best.
Broken strings and just kept whaling.

I was just going to say Marcus King. Gary Clark Jr is also a favorite of mine, I've met him twice now. I go see him every time he's been in Minneapolis and drove to Austin TX to see him open for Tom Petty the year Petty died.

Great suggestions: SRV, Jimi, Allman's, plus all the OGs.

Black Keys Chulahoma is a great album of Junior Kimbrough covers.

Check out Seasick Steve for some interesting bare bones sounds.

Saw BB King once and he broke a string. I thought to myself “now we’ll see if the IS only 1 Lucille”. Guy came from side stage with a string, the song never ended, BB replaced the string all while singing. That answered it. GOAT.

Saw Buddy Guy this year and his act was remarkable. He’s so easy and plays effortlessly. Eric Gales really impressed as his opening act. Now that he’s sober, it’s even more amazing to watch him play.

Going to see him at the infamous Surf Ballroom in a week & half. Will be #2 for the wife & I. This is it, his farewell tour.

So I know a lot of 80 metal were blues oriented, from dime bag to ..... whoever. I love the guitars (can't play one), and I love any music blues influenced. Hunting season is slow so I hope we can talk the blues, until hunting season, I love muddy waters, lighting hopkins, john lee hooker, susan tedeschi to big mama thorton. Stevie ray is still my favorite. If anyone can steer me to some blues, I am all ears. The blues are all american to me. help me find some older classics while I wait for my moose hunt
