Help me find a boot

I am looking for a boot that would be better for backcountry hunting than my current boot (under armour speed freek). I noticed that STP has a 45% off coupon and I was hoping to take advantage of it. I provided a link below that has a list of boots in my size and hope some of you may have had experience with a few of the boots listed and could give your opinion. I live in Washington so I would like a gore-tex boot, but it's not a deal breaker. I mainly want a boot that will work well for backcountry hunting while carrying a heavy pack. Thanks

Its gonna be what's fit your foot best and your budget. Go try on boots! I got some lows cevadale from STP for $185 not too long ago. Work great for me.

I've been happy with the Hanwag Dakotas I got on STP with a similar coupon.

Just be sure to understand the sizing of the Hanwags. There is a conversion chart on the Hanwag site for US, Euro and UK.
When I bought mine Sierra was listing UK sizing. It's not rocket science but just be sure on your sizing.

There is a much better selection at 35% off and 99 cent shipping. Nothing with goretex qualifies for 45% off. Look at the Lowa Cevedale. I think Dotman has some of these and he dyed them to make them a more hunter friendly brown.

Sent you an email .

Thanks everyone for the advice. Thanks Shrek for the heads up on the Lowa boots. I didn't see them as an option when I was searching, but guess I didn't look at mountaineering boots.

I too have the Cevedales from STP. Luckily I scored them in the more neutral color so I didn't have to dye them. STP has a pretty solid return policy so get what you think you want, try them out and return for another pair if necessary. Also, some boots run larger or smaller than typical sizing so search for other sizes too. For instance, I typically wear 10.5 in tennis shoes and stuff but my Lowa's are 11's.

I went with a pair of La Sportiva Karakorum boys after talking with the folks here. Gave up my wildland firefighter boots for them and ain't looked back.
