Help! If you could buy any binoculars and rangfinder OR ranging binos........

OK I've used the Swaro, Leica and my ol' ZenRays the last few nights and really I'm not seeing a 2k dollar difference. My zens are actually more comfy and easy on my eyes(physically), but I could tell a SLIGHT bit of differnce in brightness between the other two. The Leicas seem to have to be held a little higher on my eyebrows and the swaros seem to come up more naturall. still a little concerned with the comfort part. eye cups are hard on both high dollar ones compared to zens and MUCH heavier. Anyone have any similar experiene? Really "want" to think one of the two are better but just not seeing it. What other tests could I do to see the differences?
Get a chart and check resolution, look at edge to edge clarity, check chromatic aberration (black against a white background) and do a color check.

Sure they are heavier as they are a magnesium frame vs plastic housing. Built better but heavier.

I have a pair of Vortex 8X Vipers I bought just for that reason...I wanted a lower power lighter bino. But comparing them side by side with my Swaros glassing long range at dusk...you can see the difference....whether its worth the extra $1,000 is the question we all wrestle with.

I have the Leica Geovid in 10X42 and the Zeiss Victory 10X45 both with the rangefinder built in and I like them both a lot. The Zeiss range an object faster than the Leica and I think they let more light in, however, the Zeiss are heavier and bulkier. The clarity of the glass is amazing and right there with the Swarovski EL 10X42. I will be be using the Leica more for the simple fact that they weigh less and there not as heavy and bulky.

I can't see myself going back to carrying a set of binoculars and a rangefinder. to me there are to many advantage of of carrying one unit that does it all.

What would you buy? Looking to make the investment and keep coming up between Leica Geovid HD-B and the Swaro ELs(and keeping my Leica rangefinder) and Swaro EL Ranges. I just can't decide. Leaning towards the Leica geovids but never found solid answer on the angle comp for archery at short distances. ANY help would be great from real world users. Thanks!

I recently "traded up" to the Leica GeoVid HD-B's from the older HD model 10x42's. To my dismay, the new Leica Geovid HD-B's only work out beyond 80-100 yards for ballistic compensation (i.e. it has rifle ballistic choices). I even tried to input my archery ballistics and could not get it to go for archery. They do range down to 10 yards, unlike the Swaro's that stop at 33 yards. These are awesome bino/rangefinders for rifle hunting and will range items out beyond 2,000 yards. (Wow!) I uploaded my rifle ballistics into them (MicroSD card) and now can shoot any angle and ranges with no adjustments.

I would go with the Leica HD-R's for combo archery and rifle hunting. Currently I carry my Leica Rangemaster 1000-R rangefinder next to my HD-B's when archery hunting.
