Help finalize the "Dixie Zipper" (Mini CBK) for a group buy

I have the patterns from Dixie and will be finished today and will send it to get scanned for CAD design.

I was on the list to test these knives and used them on an aoudad hunt with some buddies. I'll start off saying I'm not a huge knife afficionado like many that have contributed to this thread, but I've skinned more then my fair share of game and farm raised animals. I've mainly used a havalon knife the past several years, but was looking to get away from broken or lost blades.

The knives worked really good and all my buddies were asking about them. They do a very good job of staying in the skin while opening up the animal. Each knife got used to skin and quarter an aoudad using the gutless method, and all would still shave hair after finishing. This included knuckling all the leg joints and the head at the base of the skull. I really liked the orange knife best to begin with, but after using them, it was my least favorite. The blade just seems like to much. The dark green handle seemed to work the best for me, with the lime green being a close 2nd. small blades just seemed easier to work with. I've got big hands, so the black knife's handle seemed a little small to me. I would not hesitate to purchase any of the four though. Thanks again for doing this and keep the products coming!

Thanks for the feedback, I am following what you said about the smaller knives. They seemed too small, but you have me excited to try them too.

Either way, it’s only 1/4” inch…

I am working hard to make an option for a large and small handled option, because that makes sense to me. Just gotta have my designer work out something to easily swap handles without compromising the knife.

Great reviews! Can't wait to see the final product. I've been carrying a #2 , haven't had it on a cridder but it cuts tomatoes like crazy.

Knife is on its way for CAD design for blade and handle. Invoices will be paid today to begin production process for handle and blade. The Dixie Zipper will have the same design as above.

And, it will have the same steel/hardness like the one above and knives in the pass along group.

I am going to open long wait time preorder for significant discount. Shipping looks like August worst case.

Just want to pay the money to the vendors, get in line and then let early adopters in.

About 45-60 days out from confirmed shipping I will increase price on any new presale orders.

When they hit the store, full price.

Dixie will be making some to put in the store and available immediately, at just below his custom price for those who want that option.

I will post up the CAD drawings and details as soon as I have them so you can see what that looks like.

I am having the handles cut and contoured to screw on.
