Help finalize the "Dixie Zipper" (Mini CBK) for a group buy

I think you are compromising/specializing with a mini so I would prefer to optimize it's use case with the thinner blade. I think it will really shine in front country / eastern hunts where gutting is more common than bushcraft.

I do see a use case for a SHTF version but in that scenario I would want a 4" blade length along with the thicker blade. Also worth noting that if I had intentions to baton wood I'd want a second knife for that task.

Something else I think you should look at ramping/scalloping the handle where it meets the blade to add comfort and security in a pinch or finger along the spine grip.

THIS version of that I want to carry. It is the no compromise lightweight mini for the day hunters and backcountry hunters not worried about SHTF bushcraft.

I will eventually make a full size version in the 4.25" length with a little thicker blade.

For a carry knife that can skin and be used in a SHTF scenario, I picture the Nesmuk style. I think the dude who designed it-- the OG bushcraft writer got it right for that, based on what I see of knives and utility.

Concur. In my 50+ yrs of hunting, 50 yrs backpacking, 40+ yrs backpack hunting I have never wanted nor needed a bushcraft capable knife.

My hunting has spanned about 50 years myself and I always carry a "bushcraft" capable knife at least, and when it's wet I also carry a hatchet.
However, I always carry a smaller blade or two for meat and fur. Neither is good for the other, and if you are trying to go lite to go further, you'll make compromises. I've left behind a big bladed knife for a hatchet and two smaller blades.
