I’m a wee bit confused from the last several posts about sharpening the knives. They are sharpened already, but the edge will be rolled some; they aren’t sharpened at all and need a final edge put on them; or something different?

It’s coming together! Update:

The CAD work is finished. Handle maker is paid and ordering G10. I will have the design to the blade maker by next week with payment to get in line.

First/Early preorder will open in a couple weeks when I have production guesstimates. I will finalize prices and options then.

The designer is going to do a CAD of the knife so you all can see it in its full electronical designed glory.

The initial run will have something custom engraved in the handle.

FIRST EARLY PREORDER will get THEIR CHOICE of G10 color handle in:
Limited run custom laminate stack in Blaze Orange and Zombie Green accent layers.
Limited run custom laminate stack in Blaze Orange and Brown accent layers.

Standard Zombie Green
Standard Blaze Orange
Standard Black

SECOND FINAL PREORDER will get their choice of leftover limited run or standard colors.

Are you still going to do the limited run handles? And will you have the G10 in solid colors other than Orange?

Oh, they are gonna be slicey when you get them.

After use, the edge rolls/folds like when you hit bone. Its technically still sharp, but you are trying to cut with the sharp edge folded over sideways. That's what the butcher steel is for.

Eventually the edge will wear, and that is when you need sharpening. Sharpening will be much easier with this steel than the super steels.

If you want to send them in for sharpening after hunting season, that's what the sharpening service is for.

It will be like this, likely without the kydex clip on it. The opening will be better designed and cleaner looking. The grommet holes will be sized to put clips on it if you want.

Or, I might have the sheath maker create vertical and horizontal carry clips like the one shown on the case.

I am working out colors and quantity for the handle cutting/shaping if I provide colors. I do hope to add one or two more colors in G10. If I can get my current handle maker to do some cool effects/multi-color, I will figure out how to change your color handle. If I do it, I will post a link here and I will send an email to pre-orders with a survey to make the change.

I will keep orange linen and G10 as the standard with the black. Other than that, the green is a custom color for preorders unless I get enough orders for it.

I didn’t see the G10 in black option on the LS website. Just orange, and Micarta in the three colors. I don’t mean to be a pain, just would rather have the G10 in black as well, before I order.

@hereinaz - as the website is shown now - it appears as though one could order a lime green handled knife, but not a lime green sheath? It would have to go with an orange or black sheath? Would it be possible to have a green knife with a green sheath?

Is the Micarta grindable with "common" tools (dremal or similar)? I'm in for one, but trying to decide between G10 and Micarta and want to make sure I'll be able to ramp the handle where it meets the blade.
