Help choosing ideal chambering/rifle to shoot lead free projectiles.

Yeah, I do, and that’s exactly my point. This has absolutely nothing to do with California. There is no law whatsoever preventing the shipping of bullets directly to a resident in California. I have bullets shipped to my door regularly. This is an absurd policy of the bullet company, not the state of California!
I thought I had found a loophole. I called last week and spoke to someone at some length (and like a stupid a** forgot to get that persons name). They told me that they WOULD ship projectile to me if I had a COE, so I went and got one. Called today, and the person I spoke to was obnoxious and explained that I needed a certified letter from CA DOJ saying they could ship. Needless to say, I am just about done with DRT. That level of corporate ignorance or disdain for my choice to not move away from my grand kids, leaves me to likely find another non-lead projectile to use. I have tried one last salvo with an email asking for a well articulated position as to "why" they are the only manufacture to have such a policy.

Should that fail, and I am guessing they will just ignore it, I will likely just fall back to my Hammer Hunter load that I know works. I could get the DRT, and have it shipped to family in Reno, but at this pointI really have to ask myself if I want to support such a company. That will be a "no" should my attempt at logic fail.

I like the LRX, but never got it to shoot well in my rifle, where the 124g Hammer Hunter did. I'd be interested in any MAJOR advantage of one over the other.

Shoot the Hammer if you know it works in your rifle. Still have the benefit of secondary projectiles enlarging the wound channel.

For what it's worth to anyone following this thread I pulled the trigger (no pun intended) on a Tikka Superlite .243win 1:8 twist. I went this route due to low recoil, the option to shoot DRT Terminal Shock projectiles and the high velocity to drive traditional factory copper offerings in the event that component availability forces me to shoot them. Thank you all for all your input.
If you're buying their factory loads make sure you chrono them.

DRT Technology Terminal Shock.

79gr .224
95gr .243
135gr .264

Loaded ammo in 223, 243, 6.5cm. Those are the best performing lead free bullets right now.
I would not be steering anyone towards their loaded ammo.
Squib loads and 250+es reported in the load data thread from factory ammo.

The bullets, yes.

I have shot a handful of deer with the 130 ttsx out of a 308 at 3000fps and a few more with the 80 ttsx out of a 243 at 3450fps. Both killed deer, some bang flops some ran a short distance some bled good some didn't. All of the ones I've shot have been sub 200 yds.

After shooting the 6.5cm Howa Ultralite I got for my son... I made the switch over to 130gr TTSX for .308Win so I'd acheive similar nicer recoil. And they seem to be very accurate out of the Savage!

For what it’s worth I’ve played with the hammer hbc line in .223 and in 6.5 and have been very impressed with the accuracy and wind deflection. The typical indifference to seating depth seems to apply.

Big fan of Barnes in these scenarios. I would do an 80gr TTSX in what ever 6mm you choose as any one will drive it just fine. The next suggestion is a 6.5CM with any of the 3 ammo options from Barnes.
