5' 10", 185. Lifetime scrawny dude that somehow can be skinny and fat at the same time. Working to trade some fat for muscle, should be ready for the season if I can remain uninjured. Bad knee forces me to be gentle and do less than I want.

5'9.5" Was a runner many years up into my late 40's. In my younger years I felt overweight above 160 and I generally stayed under that weight up to around 40 years of age or so. Somewhere after that my weight went up to as high as 200. I've tried jogging several times with my weight in the 190's and can jog up to 3 miles but my knees start bothering me. so I generally just walk long distance till my weight drops some. I definitely feel better at under 180 but I only seem to be able to get there with the motivation of an upcoming Elk hunt. I know if I don't loose the weight the steepness + elevation will kick my butt royally as it kicks my butt even with loosing 20 lbs and much hiking. My Dr says due to my overly muscular legs 180+ is not a bad weight for me but in my older age of 70 I really think I would feel better over all at under 170 but I enjoy my deserts and unless I cut the sugar or exercise full time, full year it probably won't happen.

Additional important question(s) IMHO would be - Weight and height isn’t the whole story.
5’11 180

Type of hunting: Spot Stalk Elk / Western
Body Fat Percentage: 10%
Average Mile Pace / 5K Time: 7:45 / 23:30
Bench Body Weight: Yes
Squat Body Weight: Yes
Consecutive Pull Up Count: 22

YMMV

I'm 5' 8", 182 lbs, but it's not muscle. Dad bod has been creepin. I'm currently doing MTN OPS Elk Fit program and trying to get that down to 165-170 lbs.

My preferred weight is 175 but in reality I feel great at 180lb and that is much easier for me to achieve at 5'9" with quite a bit of muscle mass. Currently at 195 so definitely have some work to do.

I’m down to 185 weighing myself at night. I feel light on my feet. My hunting clothes certainly fit better as well. Would like to get another 5lbs off.

Last year I was 5’9” - 175 and it was by far the best year. I also didn't lose any weight during season. The year before I was 195 and lost 10 lbs during hunting season then went back up to 195. The year before that I was about 205 and same. Lost weight during the hunt and then went back up. For me the ideal is now going to be 175 ish.

I’m still at about 160 I think. Can do approx 14plus pull-ups in a row. 21:00 5k. Can squat and bench press body weight. Trying to keep my right knee from getting inflamed and healing up sore elbows. Most days I am either going for a quick 3 mile run or a lifting circuit with 20-25 lbs weights. I also hike a small amount as filler activity. Trying to be more intentional with stretching this year. Gonna do a 30 day stretching challenge. I see the importance of regular activity and healthy eating now that I’m 40

I’m 5’9. 180. I’ll be 170 at the start of Sept. this is a normal cycle for me.
I'm 5'9", 185. It's dad bod, not muscle. My size Large Kuiu is tight on me. I need to get back in shape. Hoping to be 165 by next season.

I'm 6'2", going down from 270, at 260 right now. Trying to lose the weight of being a beer drinking, no- exercise fool. I have no problem hiking 12 miles a day off trail. I did 6-10 miles for 3 days in the sierras a couple months ago just fine, but I was dying on the quail hunt on day 4 in much milder terrain. That was an eye- opener that im terribly out of shape.

Started exercising regularly and committed to getting back ti 220 like I was in the navy.

5'11, 210 lbs 46yrs old. 3 back surgeries in 5 years. Last year i hit 200 after 12 days of elk hunting lost 6 lbs in that time. Started back to the gym October for the 1st time in 26 years. Lovely Covid has made that up and down but I'm determined to stay consistent and committed. I have the opportunity to draw a elk tag I've waited 18 years for. So basically once in a life time. Goal is sub 200(190 is the dream) by September. Plan is 3 days a week strength training until March then go to 3 days backpack cardio 2 days strength training. Already eat reasonably healthy so for me it's about just exercising...

55 years old, I work out 5 days a week. 5’-11” and weigh 165 year round. I try to put about 10 pounds on starting 3 weeks prior to elk camp. Last year I returned weighing 157 after 13 hard days of hunting.
