What are some of the options?
168 lrx are good and I've got a few hundred

I'm not looking at the Hammers, as I've used them already and their claimed bc is bs. Plus I'm not a huge fan of the way they are designed To shed petals
Is there anything else out there thats on par or better than the LRX?

Can't say for sure as I didn't shoot very many of them. I went through a phase of experimenting with mono's and Badlands were one of a few that I tried.

Did you test the hammers on your own or read about them online? I'll just say.. BC very close to advertised out to 500 yds in my 7mm08 with several dead elk shot at various distances to show for it.

How bad is the copper fouling with those?
I shoot the badlands in my 6.5, 270 and 338. I've not had copper fouling issues and I don't clean my barrels very often.
A 7 twist 284 barrel is hard to find, but I've been thinking about it just for that 160gr bullet, but I'm already shooting the 150 in the 270 so, close enough.
I shoot the LRX in my 3006 because it's a slow twist tikka and it can stabilize the 175lrx.

I shot them for 2 years, so I did my own testing and data collection. They performed...okay terminally. But the bc was not what they stated. And I dont like bullets that fragment.

Nice, how's the terminal performance?

And I should state, this will be a secondary load. Since I'm leaving California I'm not required to shoot mono's only anymore. But I still plan on coming back to hunt in CA so I need to develop a load for those hunts.

These look interesting. Any experience?
I have shoot deer at 498 and 572 both fell instantly and didn't move. I shoot them out of a 7mm sherman max at 3200 fps. i have been shooting the 151 gr. i am working on the 170 have gotten 2900 fps with retumbo still working my way up.

I've had no issues. Caribou and a sheep with them so far. Everything was dead within a handful of yards of where it was shot.

There's a good terminal performance thread on them on LRH.

Have been curious about these for a while but hardly ever see anything about them. Looks like they’ve done well for you though

Everything I have shot has fallen down, lol. They are very accurate, too. 500 yad group.

I haven't heard very good things about the hornady CX. Barnes lrx seem to do better.
