Heck, I you want to do that why not put a $200 fee to purchase a firearm? Put the money towards p/r act. How about a $200 fee for mountain bikes? list could go on forever. P/R funds have been mis-spent for decades, fees won't help.
Now your just gas lighting... Why would I want, for example, a shotgun something I will never put a supressor on to cost $200 bucks more, not to mention would almost double the cost of 22LR.

Has everybody already forgotten when Donald Trump said he doesn't like silencers, then went on to ban bump stocks?
That was planned. Look at it from a little farther away....he knew it was unconstitutional and it made for a ruling that protected us all from the executive branch over reaching.

Trust me, I wanted to beat his ass until I looked at it higher level. Everything he's doing is chess, and most of the world is thinking checkers.

I’d be super curious if suppressor manufacturers actually want this passed. As is currently they’re a little harder to get thus a little more limited in supply meaning they can charge a lot for what’s a pretty simple device. If this passes and they’re readily available I’d guess prices will drop substantially

Makes sense. Anybody with a lathe and knee mill could make one too.

If they still require a 4473, I don’t think it would do much. The stamp really only financially limits buyers, not manufactures ability to produce.

Unless it opens up demand to a level that more suppliers jump in, then it could have an effect but I would doubt it.

We're too dumb to understand that banning bumpstocks actually was good for the 2nd amendment, got it.

Do your parents know you’re on the Internet???

I mean seriously??? “3d chess”??? That’s what Qanon dorks were saying back in 2020. I thought all the crazy folks were over on the 24 hour campfire.

If Joe Biden said he didn’t like silencers or banned bump stocks you would FLIP out. Trump does it and it’s 3d chess??? C’mon man, at least try to sound smart. I voted for Trump but to think he’s the 2a savior is a fantasy.

I didn't say anything about money...I dont know about you but time is my most valuable reasource.

I think a better idea is to leave the tax stamp and the entire amount goes to P/R Act instead of the US Treasury gen fund with no designation, as it currently does now.
IIRC Firearm parts have an 11% tax, so 11% plus $200 on every can purchase.

There were 1.4 million suppressors sold in 2024. The tax stamp isn't handcuffing the market.
Yes it is I spent $600 in tax stamps last year, that free suppressor

He has a point, basically it was forced to go in font of A very PRO 2A SCOUS, it’s no longer ambiguous nor up for debate and had no limitations on any one owning a bump stock or belt loop
On their pants in the mean time.

No im not sure that was really how it was ment to play out but it did.

It would be sweet but state bans would still be in place in spots like IL, CA and NY. Which for me is a headache as an IN resident who can legally possess and use them but I’m unable to use them on my property in IL go figure… But there’s still hope

Why in the heck should I have to pay $200 in tax every time I buy a suppressor?

I can't stand liberal thinking like that.

It would take very little time and resources to close down the NFA starting tomorrow. And it would save taxpayers money.

Its literally a constitutional right that was taxed so heavily at the time it was extremely prohibitive. I don't understand anyone who doesn't think this would be great.

Sure $200 isn't crazy now but back in the 1930s it was roughly $4,700.
