Heads Up on Scammers

Why are y'all using Apple Pay and Zelle? Usually, when I'm selling things online, I always default to using PayPal G&S. Yeah, they have a fee, but that's the price for purchase protection.
I'm not trying to sound hostile; I genuinely want to learn why people still use Apple or Zelle.

Mostly buy from WKR accounts, prices too good to be true usually are.
If it’s a newer account or over a dollar value that would seriously upset me, just do a FaceTime with the seller, if they are unable or unwilling huge red flag, when I face time I can usually get a warm and fuzzy in about 10 seconds, most guys are other western hunter type guys and carry themselves as such. Sorry you got scammed that sucks

Why do some accounts have no information when you click on them? Can’t see the persons posts or activity? Is that a scam marker?

99% of these scammers wouldn't get any money if people would just pay with Goods and Services. Please stop trying to save a few dollars (while violating the money transfer policy) and just pay the fee. One time getting scammed probably negates all the money you would save in a lifetime of trying to skirt the Goods and Services fees...

I would actually be for a Rokslide policy to say that if Goods and Services isn't used to try and save money, then no complaint/notification post should be allowed to be posted or remain up. Maybe then people would get the point and learn.

I am showing interest in an item listed on RS WTS/WTT, Looking at PayPal G&S Policy they absolutely don’t cover anything related to Firearms or Accessories, I am being extremely cautious in this regard right now…..Anyone see any Red Flags?

Good and services won’t matter. It’s a part for a gun and PayPal will tell you to pound sand if you file a claim.

I just got screwed by a guy using this method. Felt sketchy and I should have listened to my gut. The PayPal he used was SteveHudson287. Venmo he tried to get me to use was AlexanderRouse-08 which he said was his wife’s. Email he ultimately used was hunterbridge05@gmail to send pictures and the phone number he texted from was
‪+1 (920) 653-0745‬. PayPal shared his email as StevenHudson3732@ Gmail.

Essentially same concept as described above. I never buy much from online forums and stupidly sent via F&F. I got convinced by some actual photos and written stuff on paper. Probably photoshopped now that I think about it. I was also convinced because the original seller used a guest account which you can’t message. I hit up someone else that purchased something from the OP and he confirmed it was all legit. But clearly this was a scammer capitalizing on a post. He got my number because I had posted it somewhere back in 2022 or so. I feel like such a dumbass.

Lesson learned…. Always Goods and Services for me and always messaging via the forum. The person used a burner phone that couldn’t accept pictures. He did work in some photos and a call. So there ya go folks. Don’t be a dumbass like me. He was originally pretending to be Mthompson3300 which is a guest account, but someone else had vouched for him when I messaged separately a different guy who purchased something on a different ad.
