Never in my life thought I would be trapped in a pit toilet at a hunting area until today. Had a door lock malfunction and not release. Was trapped in the cinder block building with a steel door for about an hour until a sheriff's duputy arrived with a crow bar. Glad I had my hunting gear on as it was 30 degrees out and could have been a bad situation. Was able to dial 911 to get the assist. Lesson leaned is that I will now always carry a leatherman with me if using on of these state park toilets. At least I could disassemble the lock mechanism that way. Figured I would offer this up as a public service announcement and consideration if stopping at one of these sites in a remote location. Fortunately this was in in Illinois and not super remote, but lesson learned.
