Between the Hilleberg Niak and Big Sky Revolution 2p

Looking for just a general 3-season do-everything tent that can deal with light snow and pretty heavy winds/rain.. Not looking for a tarp (have a few and love them but this is for a different purpose)

Both have about the same dimensions. Both are double-walled. Both are rugged 3-season worthy. Both are "free-standing". Both have external poles (one clip on, one sleeves) so they can be setup in the rain without getting the interior wet. About the same weight. Both in the same general price range when it's all said and done..

Can anyone persuade me to go one way or another? Anything I'm missing or forgetting about?

Anyone know of a 3rd choice that fits all my criteria, preferably a little bit cheaper ;)? And no, I don't want the Kuiu rip-off

I have a Niak and it is my fourth Hille since 2009. I have owned/used a whack of tents since I started camping alone in 1964, and I have sold everything except two Hilles. I do not even look at other tents now, except SO tipis and a major reason is Hille fabric which is, IMHO, superior to any other.

I might yet buy an Allak as my Saivo is more then enough in BC's mountains until November snows and cold. Costly, yes, but WORTH IT!

I just got a Hilleberg Akto and really, REALLY get what all the hype is about now. These tents are just on another level. The quality of design, build, and materials are incredible.

I think the Niak would keep you safe, dry, and happy for decades. Well worth the extra cost. If your needs change, or you somehow do not like it, they hold their value very well.
