+1 on ndbwhunter's take,
Most years I'm bow hunting in mid-September and I'm concerned about cooling meat. usually fill a large cooler with frozen Arizona Ice Tea jugs I saved thru the year and top off with loose or block ice just before I set up camp. Have a insulated seat pad on this cooler and I don't open it until needed. Have the added luxury of extra potable water as the jugs melt.
This year I'm hunting 2nd rifle so the ice will be less of an issue. I avoid putting dry Ice on quartered up meat that must be thawed out before being butchered. Only use it if I have the processing done locally before leaving the hunting area. My guy back home will cut & vacuum pack for a very reasonable rate. This is my preference.
I have seen others utilize a small chest freezer and a generator mounted in a utility trailer. Pretty creative way to transport prepared meals on the way out and meat on the way back. This would be ideal for a large group of hunters that have a long drive to and from the trail head. It could get expensive dealing with multiple coolers (multiple kills) while keeping everything chilled with dry ice.
