Has Anyone "Downgraded" Their Optics?

I just got back from a week long Coues deer backpack hunt with a buddy. We each carried 12x50s, he had meopta I had Swarovski. Hours upon hours of tripod glassing each day. We swapped glass here and there. I absolutely love meopta glass, I consider theirs the best 12x50 bino outside of the alpha ELs and ultravid, but there was definitely a difference. The lack of edge clarity in the meopta drove me nuts after getting used to swaro ELs. Also the meoptas gave a sort of tunnel vision as compared to the huge view of the ELs. My buddy noticed those 2 things as well, and even threw around the idea of upgrading to the ELs. Are the Swarovskis $1000 better?? In my situation, yes. In conclusion, for MY hunting style and locations, downgrading optics is not going to be on my agenda anytime soon.

Welp after a frustrating weekend of whitetail hunting with an unforgiving eyebox on my Zeiss V6 5-30x50, long hours of pondering on the weight savings, and seeing that Amazon had a smoking deal on them, I am "downgrading" my primary hunting rifle scope to a Vortex Razor HD LH 3-15x42 tonight. I have high hopes for the glass, and shaving 12 oz off my rifle should be nice.
