Hey everyone. I’m wanting a hard use can that can handle a 7.5” 5.56. I’m aware of a few like the sandman, rugged razor, Velos. Anyone use these or others and what are your thoughts? I’m open to any brand as long as it’s not over maybe $1100 if possible. I own a sandman L but want something shorter. 6.5” or less. Also would like to keep it 30cal so it’s usable on a future 300blk. Thanks.

The AB A-10 7.62 will do what you need for half of your budget.

If you decide on a QD, and it’s compatible, you could run a .556 brake style muzzle device which should take some abuse off the blast baffle. A lot of suppressors can use the same muzzle devices for the 5.56 and 7.62 in the same model series. I’ve got an old YhM phantom TI 7.62 and run it on my 5.56 with great results and has a better tone than some .556 cans. Downside is the size and weight which is why I run a 13.7” pinned barrel.

I have some dead air kemo brakes and flash hiders. I’d have to buy the hub style kemo adapter though. Only one I have is the sandman which cannot be removed. So I’ll go with that or just use the Area 419 mount since most of my guns are set up that way now. I like the ASR style too though. I like how it locks so maybe I’d go with that for the AR’s

I’ve briefly looked at those. Nice cans but I want a 30cal bore. Guy at work and his brother just ordered those a couple weeks ago though.

Your mileage may vary. I have a 5.56 SBR that I started out shooting with a .30 cal can, it took some of the edge off. When i got 5.56 can for it, it was a world of difference.

I get that a 556 would be more ideal. But I want one can to run on the 556’s and a future 300blk. Don’t want to spend money on 2 more cans. Besides I just put a scythe Ti in jail last week. Not looking to by another can right now. Just doing the research to narrow it down to something I will like. Earliest I’ll be buying a hard use will probably this summer.
