Harbor freight Apache gun cases

Can this be used just for local travel? also thinking of keeping couple of long guns in it under the bed. What do you guys think? And before a smart comment pop up, yes, the gun safe is the way to go. Just looking for some practical input here.
I mentioned it above, they are a solid case and way more robust than the $50 more flimsy plastic gun cases. For air travel getting beat on hard I'd lean toward a pelican case just for peace of mind but for routine use and tossing them into my truck I use the apache more than my pelican.

Go to the store and put your hands on one and see what you think.

Typically foam holds moisture and rusts out guns. Even in doors.
Do some research on guns stored in foam cases.
If you want to lock up guns to keep them away from little ones.
I would pull the foam out.

Scroll up through the pages. Someone left a link to order the replacement foam. I upgraded mine to a closed-cell type foam that doesn't absorb moisture. Forget the name/type of foam, but it is used a lot for tool boxes in organizing wood working tools, etc.

Picked up the rifle case and double pistol case for less than what the rifle case costs regularly, what a steal.
