Luckily, I had posts but no bases from my steel. I put them a couple of inches into the ground and strapped them to a tree.

I use strips of rubber horse stall mat. that stuff is much like the fire hose. It "self heals" and last a long time

I use old skidder tire chain. It’s hard steel and cannot hurt it ! But it’s not readily available to every one !

What we've done for the last few years is buy semi truck mud flaps from the local truck stop. A 24x48 sheet is like $20. They last a long while, can take the shrapnel, easy to work with, and cheap as it gets

I’ve had great luck with this company and their emt conduit hanging system. If you’re setting up on uneven ground just make the front legs longer. Super fast setup and easy to transport and very sturdy. I use their hangers which slip over the conduit. Trick is to wrap duct tape around conduit on either side of hanger to keep it centered.

You can find hose or belts on eBay.

I have gone to t-posts and single hangers that slide on top. The Caldwell ones are a decent bargain. These outlast chain in my experience and take less to haul around and set up.
