Hanging Gongs

T posts and hangers are the easy button and hold up well. Been using them in 3gun and long range matches for years. There are dozens of choices on EBay. Shepherds hooks from the garden section are the cheapest and lightest, but not very durable. Good enough for an afternoon of plinking.

T-posts with associated hangers is the plate hanging system that goes down by far the most often in the precision and practical rifle matches I shoot.

If you buy the Chinesium hangers, yes the small plates can hop off at shorter ranges. If you buy decent hangers it’s a non issue.

I’ve personally never had that happen. I’ve had them beat up, but never had or seen a T post shot in two.

We've had several cease fires during matches due to the t-posts getting cut down by low shots. I think they do take a number of hits before getting cut in two, though. After the matches, the posts look like they've been through WWII, haha.

I’ve got a bunch that are pretty beat up, but haven’t had one shot in half yet. It amazes me me what people can and will destroy on a range though…
