You can use a leg rig up high just below the pack belt and with one strap on the bottom which would go around your leg just below your crotch.......you will barley notice that you have it on....

Of course riding lower it's going to get wet as you hike through the morning dew. Rust is a cancer of all guns. For this reason I prefer to have mine ride higher.

Inexpensive generic holster that is very adjustable, I have no trouble with my weapon light and this holster after adjusting it. Top strap goes thru pant belt, bottom strap is just below crotch. pouch for extra mag or handheld light.....out of the way to wear a pack and does not flop around at all, very e-z carry. I like it kinda on the front of my leg. The only issue I have with this on local trails is that it is not concealed....

If you run a holster on your pack what do you do when you take your pack off as far as carry?

This is where I think the RTI wheel has the potential to shine. I've been meaning to pick a couple up and see how they ride under a pack belt, but never have. I have a feeling they're a little large to feel very good though.

I normally use a HPG snubby kit bag for chest carry a G19. Plus sides are that it stays on my body when I drop the pack, and it is always concealed (whether that helps or hinders is situation dependent). But I would honestly prefer to be able to transition to belt carry without undue inconvenience if I had the option

I got an adapter/mount from Jimmy Tarps for Kifaru molle. Ditched the nylon strap & tri-glide and substituted with malice clips. Keeps my Blackhawk holster tight even with the weight of the Alaskan in it. Never used Kydex and not sure how I'd like it with a revolver.

I run Ivory holsters for my Glocks on pack belts. While it can be removed easy enough from belt, I just leave it on and use a Fricke Zacchaeus for tucking in waistband when the pack is put down.

I have been using the alien holster for about the last 2 years and it’s worked great with the molle attachment. Here’s a pic of it attached to the belt. It’s also quick and easy to attach and take off

I have had luck with several options, an old school Eagle Industries nylon with thumb snap, a custom kydex for the quickest access (not necessarily super secure) and for max protection from snags and scratches while crashing through brush - the Wilderness Safepacker. I really like the later one, just not a super fast access - if that is important to you.

Oh, oops, I forgot to mention - the standard carry is a Glock G19 and when I really want to go lightweight...my good ole S&W j-frame. I can get the S&W in a classic Kifaru belt pouch originally designed as a 2 qt water bottle pouch/binocular pouch.
Sorry, I've forgot the original name...it was made for the original "military division" as listed on its tag.
