Anybody using this powder for 300 win mag? I usually load a 180gr accubond over 78.5 gr of H1000. Nowhere near me has H1000 but there seems to be plenty of the 4831 around. Hate to switch, but hate to not shoot even more.

I have found H4831SC to be more accurate and faster than H1000. It's one of my favorite .300 WM powders. Don't overlook the old stand-by IMR 4350 behind your 180 grain pills.

Sweet!! I'll pick some up and give it a try. Thank you guys, I appreciate it! I'll let you know what I find out. I do have about a half pound of 4350 I can try that first and see what happens.

I'm using it with a 210 Berger. In my rifle, H1000 was not as accurate. RL22 did well but I was a little concerned about temp stability. I think I'm at 72 grains and get around 2850ish fps

I run 70 grains behind 180 grain Partitions. IMR 4350 has worked well for my .270 as well.

What's everyone getting good accuracy with for 180gr pills and 4831? Just looking for a starting point so I don't waste a bunch of components. Thanks for the help!

I've found the exact opposite to be true in my gun. H4831SC was the slowest powder with 180 g Accubonds. RL22 was a much faster and equally accurate powder in my 300 Win Mag.
RL22>H1000>H4831sc

It's been a little bit, but I did get some 4831 SC to try. Found a node and shot some groups. I shot a .6 five shot group today. It's a little slower than H1000, but shoots good. Thanks for the advice, it's good to know that I've got options when one or the other powder is dried up.

Supply of H4831SC is starting to dwindle down too so get what you need for your new load I'd suggest. Could be all of nothing if they restock everything shortly but those powders are having transport regulation issues. I needed a bit more myself so I went ahead and grabbed the 8lb jug to be covered for a while (and have plenty of the same lot of powder).

Yessir. I'm going to grab at least a couple more pounds if not a keg.

RL22 often provides good velocity and accuracy in a win mag... it is dual base and not temp stable. For the broad range of temperatures hunting provides, I had to go another route. I felt it was better to sacrifice velocity for consistency. My .02

Could you possibly share your recipe I am having a terrible time using H4831 in a Bergera 300 WM. Right now because of where I live using 180gr Barnes TTSX.
