I’m in southwest Missouri, thinking about having my favorite old hunting rifle rebarreled and action blue printed, maybe a few little tweaks here and there. Wondering what gunsmiths I might consider, if any in my area. Happy results are more important than budget pricing to me, so really only wanting to consider someone that is thought of as extremely good for this. Personally have gotten poor results trying to save some $s on this type of stuff. Thanks for any help!

Rivers Bend is in KS, Jeff is very talented, he’s working on my third. Worth the drive.

Thanks tdhanses. I’ll check into that, I get in that neck of the woods time to time, so definitely close enough if I’m not going to send off somewhere

A great choice, but he’s looking for one locally.

Well he said consider in his area. Not required to be in his area.
I think if you limit yourself to local those are un due shackles.
Besides if he already owns the action it is super easy to ship. Its going in for repair and wont even require a background check when it comes back to him.

Alpha and Omega Tool up in Mound City, MO. Hes about 1 hour and 45 north of Kansas City. Caleb does very good work and building custom rifles all the time.

Thank you. Yes I would consider sending some where, but preference is for someone fairly local that I can deal with in person really, and who’s work is comparable to the best of them. I’m definitely gonna check with rivers bend, he is in an area I drive through somewhat often and from his web site looks to do a fair bit of the type of stuff I’m looking for. I’ll probably end up with a few guns that need some similar attention. Just wanting to avoid the local “shade tree” type who normally have customers that are more worried about budget than actual stellar performance. If your gonna do it, do it right I figure.
