I’m looking for cost efficient ideas to store guns in a new walk in vault. I’ve ran across a lot of stuff on the internet but it seems insanely overpriced. I’ve been debating just building my own but I was going to see what kind of ideas you guys have come up with. I know there has to be some clever designs on here!

The exo podcast had a guy on about a year ago talking about gun storage. You might look that up.

You can accomplish quit a bit with good old fashioned peg board and the thousands of hooks designed to fit in those little holes.

You could also look at some of the garage tool hanging systems, they work just a well for guns.

I agree that most gun storage systems are high priced, you could even use boring wooded pegs and coat hooks. I put large nails in a wooden wall with tape wrapped around them to prevent scratching...

A slat wall can usually hold more than pegboard but is going to cost more as well. There are metal inserts you can put in them to help hold more weight too.

The gun specific slat wall stuff is way more expensive, of course. But you can buy some cool hooks, etc to hold your stuff.

Look on Craigslist for a retail store going out of business and buy their old slat wall.

It works great, and will cost 1/10th what the tactical stuff will.

I went with Secureit Panels and system for my walls. I found it fairly priced and very easy to work with and make look good and function well.

1x3, 1x8 screw in U hooks from depot and small aluminum angle all cut to fit in a walk in tornado shelter. Less than $200 all in. Used magnets on the metal walls for pistol. Adjust the height based on what you own.IMG_0223.jpegIMG_0224.jpegIMG_0222.jpeg
