Do you save them? What about scope boxes, etc?

I save everything (have the original box for every gun I've ever purchased). I figured this was normal, however after mentioning it to some of my hunting buddies they thought it was odd to keep them. How about Rocksliders?

I don't save my gun boxes but I do keep my scope boxes. I tend to try different scopes and sell the ones I don't want.

Funny - I’m moving and was discussing this with a friend. While I got rid of some of the very basic cardboard gun boxes, for the life of me, I could not toss the scope boxes. I kept all the plastic gun boxes as well.

My friend was saying basically the same thing; only a fire could rid him of all those worthless boxes

For pistols with their plastic box, and hard cardboard boxes for scopes, yes.

But not usually for long guns as the box is just flimsy cardboard. I do keep the paperwork and owners manuals.

I only keep my scopes in boxes but don’t keep Guns in box. Scopes are more fragile and need to be well pampered. Regardless, I see nothing wrong in keeping your guns boxed.

It’s a personal preference.
I have a friend that keeps every box. Than I have other friends that throws them out.
I pick and choose which box I decide to keep. I’ve sold guns where the buyer wanted the box and others didn’t.

I save scope and bino boxes just in case I decide to sell them. I used to save gun boxes too but, finally tossed them as I never needed them again.

I keep a few rifle boxes around incase I need to send one in for warranty work.

I save all scope boxes incase I sell eventually.

Do you plan to ever sell it? If so, the box is not only handy to ship it in but could add some value (not a lot, maybe $20 for being able to say "original box!"? I mean if somebody is Christmas shopping, they might like that...)

I'm kind of a hoarder and can't imagine ever selling a gun. I needed a little cash for a side project this year and had a nice, barely-used X-Bolt all ready to list and ship, with a ton of ammo, too. Somehow I "never got around to" actually doing it. :) You do you, but I don't keep my boxes...

Rifle boxes? No, I don't keep them. I don't even keep the stocks most of the time.

To me, a rifle is nothing more than an action to have barrels installed on until the barrel wears out, and then I remove and repeat.
