Grill for truck camping?

I have a typical propane camp grill that runs off 1lb cans, it is getting tired and was looking into a new one. Ideally something smaller than the typical grill, basically half the size would be perfect.

Have not come up with anything yet searching around online, any ideas?

And sticking with propane.

You want propane I assume? Lots of good options but I don't have enough experience to recommend anything gas. For charcoal or wood I've had one of these for probably pushing 15 years now, works great with charcoal or wood and sort of heats like an oven with the lid closed because the metal is so thick. It's not light. Lid and ash tray lock closed for transport.

I like my Weber Go-Anywhere Grill. I don't know if it is smaller than what you have or not.

Man I've got one of these and I use it all the time. Handiest little grill. Would recommend.

Partner Steel Cook Parnter is popular with the OHV and camping community and remains relatively unknown. It's a premium product, made in low volume and the price reflects that. I have a 2 burner cook partner, it's no frills and bullet proof. They make a two burner that folds in half if you want something smaller. It can take any size LP tank and is my preferred grill for most times.

On a budget? The eureka spark is a great recommendation. The fuel is a little harder to come by as it uses a large butane bottle but it's common enough that it's not a big deal. I bought and used one in Yellowstone last year for a week. Held up fine and worked like a charm but I probably wouldn't expect it to last a long time of hard use.

The spark is interesting though looks like it only used it's own fuel canisters, I have propane for heat at times as well so keeping things simple.

Partner looks like overkill for my needs!

The Weber Q is the best I’ve found, much more durable, even heating and holds the heat in better in colder temps.

Magna makes stainless steel grills for marine use, boat or ground. I have both and are very good too.

The Q is tough to beat tho

I just got a new one for my birthday. knowing my wife it’s from Amazon and probably was around 100$. It’s a stainless one. I’ve learned to just disconnect the valve from the grill when traveling mountain roads/trails, sucks breaking the fitting and the propane leaks. First time using it, grilled a ribeye before jumping into the wilderness for 9days. I’ve used it a few times. Works great.

I have a Weber Q, I bought it while in college circa year 2000 and survived on it. Then I moved to the beach and survived on it for 5 years, but the salt water killed the grates so I replaced those. It again was pressed into full time surface during 3 years of grad school. Now it rides in the back of the truck for camping and hunting trips. Damn thing looks terrible, but the grill grates and burner are still good to go. I can crank out a lot of food pretty quick w it too.

I still take a grill sometimes, but I’m switching more to a pair of Coleman single burner stoves and pan frying things, can’t boil water for Idahoan potatoes or cook eggs on a grill.

And I think im going to switch to a camp oven with the 2 burners on top for the longer trips.

If we have a down weather day being able to make some pilsbury cinnamon rolls sounds to appealing.

Weber baby Q and a 3-5lb propane bottle. If your stuck on 1lb bottles have the fitting to refill them from a 20lb’er.

Second vote for a magma marine grill. You can get different regulators depending on how much flame you want.
