Haven't watched a second of it and won't in the future. The athletes and the NBC network are simply too political for me. I won't support them by watching.

I saw a picture of an athlete from the Philippines on the medal stand. She won her countries first gold medal. She saluted her flag as they played the national anthem. That is how you represent your country at the Olympics. That is how Olympians used to represent our country.

Until our athletes do the same again, they don't represent me and mine. They can go pound sand.

Our ladies individual fencer did this. She won the first gold ever in individual fencing for the US, man or woman.

was happy to hold the flag and sing the anthem (under her mask).

Am I the only one who thinks the summer Olympics are completely boring? The Winter Olympics are fun to watch though.
I feel the complete opposite. Granted I’m a southerner so winter sports wasn’t a thing around me growing up. Plus being a competitive swimmer from the age of 5, Olympic swimming is must-watch tv for me

I only watch highlights. We don’t have regular tv and use an Amazon Firestick. Never downloaded an app to watch the Olympics. I enjoyed the skeet shooting and the archery. I watched the highlights when US women’s soccer got slammed by Sweden. Can’t stand many of those woke soccer players. Probably won’t watch much more unless I hear of something that interests me. I don’t watch any professional sports either. Lol

Moments like that and the Tunisian guy who came from lane 8 to win gold in the 400m freestyle are what I love about the olympics, and the main reason I watch. Sure I want america to win everything, but watching Fiji demolish England in rugby to secure their first ever Olympic gold medal was my favorite moment of the 2016 olympics. That win meant more to them and their countrymen than any of us could ever understand
That swim match was incredible. He was beaming for himself and his country

I have enjoyed it so far. I actually feel like the olympics have been LESS political than MLB/NBA/NFL. I went to an MLB game this year and the entire pre-game show was gender/race based....

The Biles decision has me thinking. At first I thought it was pretty disgraceful but in that sport, if you are having mental issues, you are risking a lot. Its not hard to break bones or even be paralyzed. I do not think she took withdrawing lightly and probably thought it was in the team's best interest.

I find it difficult to put much stock in the mental health claim, she still had plenty of composure to go sit in front of the press, answer questions and did not immediately withdraw from all competition. She was mentally strong enough to put that goat on her outfit. She is no Kerri Strug, she is just a quitter.

I get it and wish them nothing but the best but the ones that don't, unfortunately get the majority of the press and coverage. There are people on the left who don't want our flag to be flown, on our uniforms or our national anthem played at sporting events or the Olympics. It will become like the NFL and play the "Black National Anthem" before games....whatever the hell that is. The only thing that is going to stop that are poor tv ratings and loosing money. The less people watch, the worse the ratings, the more money they loose, the more likely they will get the message. Just my opinion.
Maybe some day but, right now there is way too much pressure from those with an agenda. I have not watched one minute but to be fair, I don't watch TV, way too much useless crap, Masked singer, WTF.

For those with young children, do yourself a favor and flip it on a bit. Mine are completely mesmerized. During the floor routine my 3 y/o daughter was prancing around and then sprinting across the room and jumping into a somersault and slamming into the couch. She's a violent little thing and I thought she might hurt herself but just let her keep going.

I remember my similarly aged son having his mind blown the first time he saw slalom skiing. He freaked out he loved it so much.

I guess as an adult you kinda forget how cool some of this stuff is, and the kids remind you.

I typically only watch the archery highlights. I think a lot of people think its boring but I'm always impressed at how they can make almost 80 yard shots with fingers under that kind of pressure.

Helps that Brady Ellison is so good and represents the US so well.

I surely respect the discipline and skill set it takes to become an olympian as a former highly competitive athlete myself, but I wont devote one minute of my life to supporting them and ”their“ message and liberal rhetoric. When that changes and its all about sports and suppouting your country and no virtue signaling Ilol flip it back on.

Olympics fan here too.

Interesting to note that no other country kneels or disrespects their country like some US athletes. Of course if the Chinese did it they would probably be locked in a dungeon upon coming home.

I like the Olympics for sports I normally wouldnt watch.

Did you see the womens cycling? Thats a highlight worth watching as the look of shock on that second place finisher was pretty funny.

Some crazy highlights in the US v Japan womens softball final.

It’s hard to call anyone a quitter who has already had the success Biles has. Did she collapse under pressure this year? Maybe, but her career as a gymnast is still pretty amazing. If she felt like she was unable to safely compete in the events due to a lack of focus stress or whatever, I’m not going to sit on my couch and criticize.

The female surfer from Hawaii that won gold (last name Moore) was proud to drape the American flag over her shoulders after her winning performance.

Edit: I didn't see your second post before making this one.

My nephew in southern Wis. loves curling or maybe it's the $1 beers he loves. He doesn't drink a lot but when he does he becomes a different person and the person does.
