Great demonstration of easy load "development"

Remember all the skepticism from the hunting community over the usefulness of long, high-BC bullets about 15 years ago?

This is just a longer, even higher BC projectile. I suspect we will see more of it.

Agreed. I don’t like it because it makes me only want barrels that shoot like that lol
Yes, I have had a couple like that over the years, and have one currently (maybe two, I've got a brand new one that is shooting exceptionally good also).

These experiences end up causing me to waste a lot of powder and bullets and headache on my other guns, none of which will get under 1.5MOA consistently.

I do 100% agree that all of the guns I've had that shot really well generally did not take much to get them there other than finding a bullet that shot well, and using a powder in the right burn rate for it (175 ELD-Xs and any powder in the neighborhood of IMR4831 in my 7x57 for example).

But I still have not 100% got to the point where I can just give up on a new rifle after the 4th or 5th thing I have tried makes obvious it's never going to shoot great. I really wish I could though, it gets pretty frustrating doing load development for a gun that's never going to pay off in the sub-MOA way that I know is possible because of my guns that do.

Same thing for me my 6 dasher and 25 PRC are really good barrels they’ll both put 30 shot into 1” groups. But the best I can get with my 22 creed is 1.5” it’s frustrating

A good barrel will definitely spoil you. And also teach you that precision is much more to do with the barrel, than the ultra detailed load work lol.

If I get a new barrel and it doesn’t shoot small in the first 30 shots, I’m already thinking about pulling it lol. But that’s pretty rare. Last barrel I had like that was a carbon proof, and it actually ended up shooting pretty decent, shooting way slower than normal. But never was thrilled with it.

So true lol I’ve done the same thing with the 22 Creedmoor as I have with my other rifles . I’ve tried 88 ELDMS 85.5 Bergers and 77 TMKS best groups I can get is 1.5. Thought about pulling the barrel multiple times but I’m just gonna keep shooting it and practicing with it till I burn it out.

Have you tried N555? That shit shoots lights out in the 22CM. But so does H4350 and I’m sure tried that lol.
