I should have been more specific, I was referring to only maceration. Not the boiling option.

I've bought numerous aquarium heaters off of Amazon, they've all worked fine. I've done a bunch of skulls. If temps are mild, one heater can have a skull done in 5-8 days (+ degreasing). When it gets cold, I add a second heater and it takes a little longer, 7-10 days.

Maceration is definitely for the lazy man. Very little work involved.
