Just a shout out to my hunting buddy, @Hemoglobin_97, on a great shot yesterday. Montana plains muley hunting. We were out all day, with the exception of a lunch break. It was extremely windy all day, with the wind picking up after early morning. Sustained wind of about 30 mph, with gusts over 40. We were hiking, coulee-hopping, and we were consistently finding deer. On a day when many hunkered at home, we got at it, and were successful. A little over an hour before dark, he got a nice buck. It wasn’t as big as he thought it was, as he had little time to evaluate. But he accomplished a beautiful shot at 400 yards in a 30 mph crosswind. 130 TMK out of his 6.5 PRC. Held on the tail, and it drifted right into the shoulder.

I can’t believe you stopped to take a lunch break.

Kidding that’s a great buck. Sure does feel weird holding off an animal for a wind call. Nice work. 👊 and sweet buck!

Nice shot and a solid buck! Was blowing that hard and then some in my neck woods the other day and it cuts down your effective range very fast

Little surprised the 6.5prc had that much drift at 400 yards. I shoot a 143 Norma BS and I show a 1.8mil hold at 30mph. Maybe the heaver bullet? Either way, nice shot and very nice buck!!
