I know a few of you roksliders have done some Goruck events in the past. I did my 2nd challenge and 5th Goruck event overall this past weekend in Greenville SC. It lasted 16 1/2 hrs and covered 23 miles. Rokslide is where I first discovered GR and wanted to post in case someone else may want to experience some good livin! Challenges are led by Special Operations cadre from all branches of the military. It is a team building event with astronomical amounts of PT , log carrying and mission based evolutions. Heavy penalties for missed time hacks, buddy carries and plenty of team weights to carry the entire time. We moved two logs upriver for a mile and then carried them waterlogged for another 5 miles immediately after. We also drug a sled with 150lbs of free weights over the entire 23 miles. I wont tell all as each event is different. If you want an excuse to train or want to test yourself mentally and physically, sign up! No matter how good of shape you are in at the start, you will be crushed at some point. Its just how its designed. No one person can complete the tasks by themselves. It rained the first 10 hours of the event . Definitely a mental test! We were wet all 16 1/2 hours!

Sounds like a regular Goruck Challenge. Heavy is usually 24 hours plus.

Goruck is making a killing. I was in class 265 and they are approaching 1500 now. That is incredible.

HCL would be intense! Good luck !! Yes, this was just an exceptionally long challenge! Under promise Over deliver! It was Rosinbags challenge thread that motivated me to do my first challenge in class 990 a year ago.

Seems like a fun one. My first GORUCK Challenge was like 15 hrs. 16.5 is crazy, thats awesome, and going upstream with a log is cool idea, havent seen that before. Did you feel like you just had the biggest "leg day" ever the next day.. i know i did.

Congrats...

Yeah man, my first one was 14 hrs a year ago. On that one we actually stayed in a lake the first 3 hrs and did water evolutions. Along with a lot of history lessons and short breaks at memorials. This one was a pure beatdown with only one 20 min break late morning due to onset of heat exhaustion. lol Ive worked out twice this week and they have both sucked!! legs are just now recovering.
