Good recipes for hunting fuel?

Looking for good easy to eat recipes for hunting fuel this fall. This one has served me well, would not mind finding a healthier version of these cookies but they have been easy energy in the field.

Those sound good for a yummy treat at the end of the day (minus the raisins, yuck), have "sugar crash" written all over them though....

I was thinking of adding more oats/peanut butter and less sugar to the recipe. Don’t care for all that sugar

Yeah my spouse is a hell of a baker....cakes, pies, cookies, breads, muffins, cheesecake...when she finds a recipe first thing she does is cut the sugar by half or more...doesn't affect the finished product at all, you can actually taste the other ingredients for a change...

....think I would try to eliminate the refined sugar and candy pieces, cut the brown sugar by half, and try to bulk it back up with some soy or quinoa powder for protein....and maybe a few cranberries if you must but dear God no raisins lol...

Ok I cleaned the recipe up and took the sugar out and used honey. Came out very tasty in my test batch made today. Here it is. Should make for some easy energy in the field.
