I’m glad they apparently caught the murderer of the college students here in Idaho, but I can’t imagine being one of their parents.

I would have no problem pulling the lever on a guy like this:

They caught him less than an hr from my house. Small world.

I would say it's less civilized to the rest of society to keep these people around either in society, or locked up for life. The ridiculous amounts we pay to keep these criminals around is......ridiculous.
I have a couple buddies that work in corrections, the stories i hear about treatment and the total waste of taxpayer dollars is sickening.

IF, he actually is the person who committed this terrible crime, I wonder, given his background at Washington State university working on his Phd in criminal justice and criminology he did it just to see if he was smart enough to do the crime and get away with it. Which would mean, he isn't that smart after all. I know a homicide detective who once told me, it's nearly impossible for a person to commit such a crime and not leave some sort of evidence behind. A person will always leave something at, and take something from the crime scene.

I would agree, this day and age of science i doubt there is such a thing as the perfect crime anymore. It is a sad deal for sure ......

I think we'll learn this premeditation goes a long way back. And his DNA was found at the scene. No, not really smart - batshit crazy.

He apparently was a hardcore vegan who badgered his uncle into buying new pots and pans that had never touched meat. Weird.

There’s talk that he was on Reddit for a while asking convicts how they killed people, what it felt like, and how they got away with it.

Also saw something that he had gone onto 4Chan (whatever that is) and admitted he did it back in early December, with some very gruesome details about what went down. Also stated he was hiding in the woods in PA so it makes me believe it could very well have been him.

Agree. I think that's why he chose to murder 4 people. He wanted national news - a big murder mystery so he could revel in his superiority. And he planned to keep doing it - making it more spectacular each time - as a little game to him. Certainly didn't expect to get caught on his first outing. I suspect he didn't kill the other 2 people in the house as a way to throw suspicion on them.

Congrats to all the law enforcement pros who caught this POS.

What's to think this is the first time?

Might be he tested the waters singularly in other places, and had gotten comfortable with it.

If he is really messed up it could be he murdered people in many other ways, just wanted to get even more personal about it.

And that's all the more I want to think about it. Unfortunately some people are just ****** up.

The study he was involved in was researchers interviewing convicts about their crimes. What they were thinking about pre, during and post event. What were their fears, motivations, etc. Getting inside their mind to understand all of the things criminals think of and consider regarding their crimes.

No kidding? Haven;t heard about the 4Chan thing - dont know what that is either.

I told my wife that they had a lot more info than they are letting out (from early on) and that turns out to be the case. Idaho apparently has some rules on what info can be released based on charges, etc. My suspicion was that they were keeping things quiet to not push him while evidence piled up.

Again, mental illness is our common denominator here.
