I drew a late season mule deer tag this year and want to be prepared for any extreme cold weather. Whats the go to Puffy that will not make me look and feel like marshmallow man
Not really looking for a Parka type jacket. I have that covered if temps are that bad. I always thought the Sitka Kelvin WS Hoodie was good but seems lots of complaints on the bulk it had.
What would you compare this jacket to as far as warmth goes? I’ve been eyeing this jacket for sometime now..Enlightened Equipment Torrid jacket is my go to. I have a full zip and a pullover.
i know?? Ive emailed them a few times over the years in hopes to get a different answer from them. It's a light jacket (uses 2.0 Apex insulation); I use mine through the summer and a little into early fall (September). It's warm for its weight, but for me other than early season, not warm enough for sitting/glassing much below 40.
I really wish EE offered this jacket additionally in 3.6 and even 5.0 Apex. They already use that insulation in their quilts, so they have it on hand????
I think its warmer than the FL puffy jackets I had and as warm as the Kifaru puffy jacket I had. That’s the jacket I use in Alaska for sheep hunts. At home during rifle seasons I use a blaze orange Patagonia pullover and a blaze orange EE pullover. I have not been cold yet with those combos. What would you compare this jacket to as far as warmth goes? I’ve been eyeing this jacket for sometime now..
