I have both. The 20 is better to shoot. The 29 is slightly lighter smaller to carry.
For cheap practice I always shoot 40s&w out of both my 20/29
They cycle fine in both the 20 and 29. Think of it as shooting a 22short in a 22lr. A lot cheaper and available than 10mm ammo. Of course this is “off label” and I would not tell Glock I was shooting 40sw in my 10mm but it works great.
