I have a pretty light spotter Swaro STM X 65 and it does good with it. Id say x85 or more it might not be enough.

I use a befree head on my tripod with a Kowa 77 I agree a heavier scope would be to much for the befree

I really like my 15 x 56 Swarovski binos. They are a little heavy though.

Lots of options. How much magnification do you need? The Viper line from Vortex is good, if you don't need a lot of mag than you can get into the Razor line by going with their 50mm. The 50mm is tiny and if you get the straight version packs nicely.
