My father drew a muley rifle tag for the first week of November and hoping to connect with some fellow roksliders that know the area and can give some pointers both vague and specific. Without violating forum rules the hunt is on the eastern outskirts of Gila in NM. Having never hunted Mulies (Both born and raised in MN), we are trying to read as much info and listen to as many rokslide podcasts, etc as we can. I have been able to get out once this spring to check out some of the area, and have scouted on OnX a bunch, but that only gets you so far. We have a 4-day scouting trip planned in October, and I'm wondering if anyone else has been to the area, or can give me general personal experience for hunting Mulies in West and SW New Mexico. Feel free to PM if desired, not trying to blow anyone's honey hole at all, just looking to up our efficiency and maximize our chances on this first hunt.
