It's about an hour from me...might try it out in the next couple of weeks, once the thaw is done! May start out at the Garland range to get on paper. I've never shot outside about 200 yards but am interested in the long range hobby. Does ETTS have spotting scopes to rent?
Not sure about renting spotters.

Don’t think they do daily rates unless your with a member, then it is $20 iirc

Hello and hope everyone is doing well.

I was hoping to get some feedback on the Precision Rifle Series. Does anyone shoot PRS? If so, how did you get into it? What basics would you recommend for someone who’s interested? As always, appreciate any thoughts.
Find a local one day club match. Seasoned shooters love to help newbies and grow the sport. You will see several guys running a lot of the same gear. Watch and ask lots of questions. This will help you from spending money on items that aren't needed. Prs can suck your wallet dry faster than a woman so get ready.

Hi, my name is Morgun King. I am pretty heavily involved in the PRS, NRL, and NRL Hunter matches. The NRL just finished it’s last season so the NRL is no longer an option. The NRL Hunter matches are great and try to focus on hunting, but for a beginner I would recommend attending a few local matches before trying to swim in the deep end of the hunter matches. The hunter matches are 100% blind stages meaning you cannot watch someone else shoot the stage and you don’t know where any of the targets are prior to the time starting. They require you to do a lot in 4 minutes, more than most can handle their first time out to a match.

PRS is my personal favorite. They are held all over the country at the club/local level and at the national level. I would recommend attending a club/local match near you before buying anything or going to a NRL hunter or PRS national match. You will be able to handle different setups, see what works, and talk to guys about what is going on. I see too many people listen to facebook and forums on what to buy or get and end up wasting money because you never know if you are talking to one of the top shooters in the country or a guy that lives in his mom’s basement.

great info Morgun, I looked things up, NRL Hunter Skills Division would appeal to me for a number of reasons including me not shooting enough hp for any other division lol but also like competing against myself most, others a distant second, and could care less about winning prizes so that's a great division and keeps things pretty inclusive to the hardcore hunter but casual range guy...

having said that, does this division have a standard for what the max distances are to expect and target sizes?

I didn't see that info where I looked things up...it'd be fun to go there with your true hunting rig and see about out scoring some of the more competitive guys ;) maybe not so fun if your main hunting rig set up tops out around 500 yards and they may ask 800 or 1000 yards of it...I'd be out, 600 I'd be in
