I have been hesitant to jump on the chassis rifle kick - just too much love for traditional rifles. However, for some reason, the sig cross carbon 6.5 creed with 18" barrel has got my attention. Not sure if its enough to buy one yet, but I would say its time to start doing some research. Love the idea of a compact rifle in my pack - especially in spring while hiking and maybe finding a bear.

Guys that have made the switch from traditional to chassis or at least added one to your lineup - how have you liked them? Good or bad?

Any thoughts on the sig cross I mentioned above?

I’ve been very happy with my Sawtooth 18” 6.5 Creed. Shoots great, and well built. Folds nicely on my pack as well.

Here’s what it tends to shoot like.

Personally I've never understood the love for traditional rifles. Chassis rifles seem like a straight upgrade to me: folding stock, more pistol grip options, integrated ARCA rail.
Can anybody help me understand the appeal of traditional stocks? Aesthetics sure, but is there anything else I'm missing?
