Was out shooting my new Tikka T3x this weekend and I realized I really need something to give me a better cheek weld. I ended up wrapping a towel around the stock to raise it up but obviously that’s not a good solution.

Other than getting a new stock what are some tried and true solutions for this? I don’t want something that’s going to slip off and annoy me or whatever and I don’t want it to be really uncomfortable either.

What optic and ring combo are you using?

I had the same issue with my tikka so I ditched the rail. Problem solved. I wanted to keep the Tikka as a lightweight compact set up as best as I could so adding a cheek rest and using a rail just weren't the route I wanted to go .

What do you guys put in the pocket on that triad pack? I like the idea, but can't think of what I'd put in there other than the extra rounds.

Another triad pack user. They are okay, and make a nice soft place to place my face.

I keep a dope card, ammo, and electrical tape to retape the muzzle in the pack

I ended up with a triad. I like it on my Kimber Montana, but on my Cooper Jackson Hunter, the bolt hits it when I want to remove the bolt.

Ammo, kestrel, wind checker. Dope card laminated and taped on my mag.

I made this for mine awhile back because I was having the same issue. Bought some kydex and heated it with a heat gun and bought some Velcro straps from Walmart. Pretty easy project.

I carry all of that stuff except for a kestrel in other places. I ordered two of the triad stock pads. Same functionality of the pack, minus the pack. excited to mount them up.

To date I've used the beartooth comb-riser. It doesn't stay put.

Bummer to hear about the Beartooth comb-riser. I just bought a couple because they are lighter and less likely to hold water than the triad pack which has been my go-to. Do you think some tape or something else could help keep things in place?

Tape works OK on the foam riser pieces, but you have to tape it tight enough to actually work, and that impedes the intended rising. The neoprene moves anytime you shoot off of a rear bag - you could tape that too I guess. You can tape until the cows come home, but I'd prefer a product that just worked. Too bad we couldn't have worked out a trade.

Water retention was something that I thought about with the triad riser, but I hunt pretty dry climates, so it wasn't a deciding factor for me.

Piece of pipe insulation cut to fit.. held in place with electrical tape..

Will bring it perfect for talley mediums.

Will last a lot longer then you think. Weighs about 1 ounce
