Geezer naps

perfect nap spots gonna depend on the temp... under a tree with shade for my face and then legs sticking out in the sun... on a slight slope ..... if the grounds wet a couple of pine bough placed down for my butt...... yea thats the good stuff.

Over looking : A wallow, an opening with a meadow , a crisscross of game trails.....

Here it is in April and I'm looking forward to these naps.

In fact, it's one of my best tactics, have been woken up many times by elk.... wondering where those calls were coming from after we fell asleep. When all else fails to find elk, I take a nap

Ants don’t like pine needles so I usually nap under a pine tree where Elk have bedded, the combo of needles and elk urine means an uninterrupted nap.

I thought to re-invent the "Capote" long woolen coat like a bathrobe with a hood ,it would need the 800 sq. Inches of orange for Colorado . New modern materials maybe.
You could get tucked in to stay warm
Better to stay out then hike back to camp then turn around and come back.
I've taken a nap on the side of a mountain many times

For me, it's first thing in the morning after getting near to where
I want to start still hunting. Usually wake up when it's starting to
get daylight.
I've had many successful hunts like this.

This has nothing to do with elk hunting, but I want it known that I did not take a nap yesterday.

Literally pulled an all-dayer.

Wish i had that kind of endurance, its impressive. I still had to pull out my mat at work and took a nap in the middle of the floor, after my nap someone brought me some sliced apples and i got back to work. A good day for me

Taking a midday nap on top of a ridge in 2016 while archery elk hunting, i heard the noises of footsteps and slowly turned my head only to see a mtn lion fast walking approaching me. It was a cross wind so I think it was like, look at this dumb elk bedded in the open on a ridge. I jumped up and screamed haha. The lion had that split second freeze about 12 yards from me and ill never forget the eyes locking on mine as if to say, WTF. Lion dove off the ridge real fast and my heart rate/adrenalin was off the charts.
