Gear theft and tent color

I have never even remotely considered some stealing my gear in the backcountry! I guess it could happen but i doubt I will ever think of this again.

If I could wave a wand and make all my outdoor gear/clothing muted solid colors I would be waving it.....

I’ve run bright orange, red, and earth colored tents over the past few years in both public trail areas and remote backcountry settings with 0 theft issues. The times I’m in camp I do notice a big difference of how many more people notice my camp if I’m in the red or orange tent.

after a long hunt on a river i was very very happy to see the white tipi in the moonlight once. quite the relief, as i was not sure which side of camp i had hit the river on.
