I took this buck on a third season hunt in Colorado in 2004 while tracking a cow elk that my nephew had wounded. He was bedded with 6 does down in the thick pinyons/cedars. I was able to drop him as he stood up with one 175 yard shot across a gully. He's a 5X6 that gross scores 200 with a 185 main frame.

This another photo from my recliner. I knew I had married the right woman when she allowed me to take over the house with my love for mule deer hunting. No heads in the kitchen or master bedroom though and she does get to decorate them for Christmas. LOL.

Thanks for the kind words. I really have no secret other than to be persistent and pass up smaller bucks. These bucks are some of the best bucks I've taken over the last 50 years or so. I've only missed a few seasons when I was in college. Many years I hunted two or three states and came home often with my tag. You just need to be picky (and lucky). LOL
