GAP Bushy LRHS 4.5-18

I have several. Mine have been nearly perfect. I had a zero shift when I lost a rifle that took a 6 foot fall onto blue ice.....but I can't verify if it was scope, mount or gun that moved....but I had a zero shift of about .75". I have them on 300win, 300rum, 223ai and 6.5x284.

I buy them without pause.

Has it been tested yet? Anyone played with one?
I've owned 3 Gen 1's since they first put them out. No failure on two to hold zero so far. One just went into service so time will tell on that one. I'm not a big fan of the donut reticle but I make them work. Most reports are they have been overall pretty solid but not totally immune to fail. Better than a lot out there.

Dillo has commented on them in the past:

I have that scope in a 12x as well. It's been to hell and back....solid performer.

I’m building a new 6GT. Want to keep things cheapish. Scope contenders are SHV 4-14, Maven RS 1.2 bla bla, and this Bushy. There are things I like and dislike about all of them. Dont like the reticle out of the Bushy, but it’s usable. Like the NF reticle, except it’s not usable. Like the reticle on the Maven, but that’s the only thing I like. No clear winner. Frustrating.

What's goofy about that deal was Gardner and Pat Sinclair wanted the "donut of death" but most of the public later decided they didn't like it :ROFLMAO:

Odd indeed. I've had 4 of the LRHS models and 2 of the LRTS. Still have 1 of each. Solid scopes. Dont love either reticle but they are serviceable.

On a dangerous game gun, I get it. On a normal hunting gun, no gracias.

There is a 3-12 LRTSi in the classifieds fyi.

If I could change one thing it would be to stop the x .2m shy of center and give me a tiny dot. The circle makes it easy to call holds for my kids.

I've got one and it's my favorite scope among a pretty large stable of RS approved options.

I personally think the donut of death is a killer reticle for all around hunting.

Example: Last week I was carrying my long range rig (which wears this scope) and quickly realized the bucks were in the timber, not running ridges like i had thought.

Usually I'd have my .243 Montana with a fixed 6x in-hand for that task...but the Bushnell turned down to 4.5x was simply excellent. I was testing it out on every stump I saw just to answer my own questions on usability.

Maybe a LITTLE thick at max power for super precision at mid range...but if I'm shooting animals in that 3-500 yard range I'm not on max power.

The turrets are excellent, locking windage is legit, glass very good...heavy AF. Will be my go-to for longer range rifles going forward, I think you should try it. First time stretching it out we took things out to 1380 yards and it tracked liked it had eyes.

Resurrect an old thread but I’m in the same boat.
I’m down to these three options. I almost placed my order for the lrhs2 yesterday…. 1k is still a lot for me. I wanted to ask if you had any different opinions/advice since last November. Thanks

I've owned all three, there's zero retention videos here of all three posted by me as well; what specifically do you want to prioritize and what is the internal debate you are having?

I might have a LRHS2 available soon.. Will likely list that and a SWFA 5-20 and keep whichever doesn't sell. Would be less than $1k.

I'm still a fan of them at the price point but prefer the RS1.2 reticle and mag range for an all around hunting scope. But $800 (traditional LRHS/LRTS rough sale range) vs $1200 for the maven is a 50% price premium that i'm not sure is worth it for everyone.

This scope would be for a coyote/deer rifle in 6creed. I have no concerns with the glass quality or durability with any of those three.
Illumination might be nice but I never realistically use it. I’d like to have a scope that’s easy to get behind in a quick situation.
I’m most confident with the nf brand but uncertain about the mil-r reticle and the zero set seems unrefined.
The maven reticle seems the best but the brand still seems “new” to me.
I like the Bushnell but I feel long term costumer service may be questionable. Haven’t used it, I think the circle reticle would work well for me on sometimes quick shots on called in coyotes.

I ended up with a Maven RS 1.2. It’s OK. I don’t love it. I mostly like the design of the reticle but the low end is still too fine for my eyes and the floating dot is too small even at the high end. The illumination is worthless.

All this back-and-forth could be solved so easily if nightforce would just make a decent FFP reticle that’s usable on the low end. Or any number of manufacturers could do it if they’d just remove head from rectum.

I appreciate that, and completely agree. Compromises

Maybe the rokscope will be the saving grace.
