I noticed that kill kit game bags were 70.00 up in price. NUTS I have found Walmart pillow cases 6.00 works great

Pillow cases aren't lightweight, aren't antibacterial, don't have reflective tape, don't have a draw string to close and don't have a good way of hanging in a tree.

Most guys want at least a few of these features in game bag and quality reusable ones are worth the price.

I have a buddy that tried pillow cases one time. The bottoms ripped open on every one of them. My Allen Backcountry Meat Bags were $25/4. I have two sets of those that I've used for 10 years now. I also used their bigger size twice for moose as well. But like everything else, prices have skyrocketed since Covid.

If I’m packing long distance I generally use the cheapest game bags available that are less bulky and lighter weight.

My Argali bags have held up well over the years. Worth the price to me. I won't fault a guy for wanting to save money though!

Agree with the above poster. Argali has also been great for me. I use the cheap disposables for hogs though.

I think I paid $60 for my Caribou gamebags Carnivore set back in 2017 or 2018. Honestly between that and marsupial bino/rangefinder chest rig those are two of the best purchases I’ve made hunting wise.

In 2017 I shot a nice (to me) bull. Took my daypack but had a huge bulky jacket and other crap so pulled my gamebags out to make room and left them at the truck since there was over a foot of snow and no bugs (which is what I thought the main purpose of gamebags was for). Long story short covered a bunch of the meat in snow, came back next morning got to meat about 30 minutes after sunrise and magpies had already gotten into quite a bit of it. Washing and cutting bird 💩 off my meat I learned to never not carry gamebags ever again. The cheap cotton gamebags I had and pillow cases are at least twice the bulk. So yes, it does seem expensive but they are in my pack all season and I forget they are there until I need them. To the guy doing one western hunt, prly just use pillowcases. To the guys hunting every year, no brainer to get synthetic lightweight gamebags. Also amazed at how easy they clean up compared to the bloodstained cotton.

Coming from the Midwest I learned the hard way gamebags are absolutely an essential piece of gear, even in winter when flies and bugs aren’t an issue - magpies still are!

I still use pillow cases that my wife gave me to use 20 years ago carry a little tent cord to tie tops then put in garbage bags after meat has cooled to pack out then when I get home throw in washer and wash ready for next trip. Guess I am a old dinosaur but if someone wants to pay for them I absolutely have no problem with it they weigh nothing
