Forloh BTM Pant review posted ---> now traveling pants to try

Just got some and wish they had back pockets and mesh on the vents but I know not everyone wants those things. Still midht keep them we'll see.

Well, I caved and got some. I jumped in on the 50% off deal.

First impression: They fit well and are comfortable. I'm 5'11" and 205 lbs. I wear a 36" waist in most jeans so I got the 36R. I think the fit is perfect with a thin base layer and another shirt tucked in. Belt fits through the loops good. My Pykes are tighter in the legs slightly which is fine, just a little different.

Will put them to use in the field soon. I bought the wax bar too for down the road when needed.

I'm about to jump on the 50% off deal too, but wanted to ask you guys with field experience: would you wear these even with a wet forecast? I'm in WA, but mostly on the eastside. Still plenty of rain, though. I've put off a a pair of true rain pants for ages, and am kinda thinking I can keep staving that off with keeping the BTM pants waxed (I know the poly part isn't waterproof.) Good idea? Or bad idea, and get the AllClima 3L pants instead? I'm just a fan of jack of all trade things.

Heck yes, that's what the wax portions are for.
This day started off with a lot of condensation that was ice then slush. I am not good at taking pictures of me, but maybe you can see how wet she is.

I wear ankle high gaiters to keep debris out of my low til shoes, and the bottom wax BTM stuff kept me dry and never soaked up any moisture.

Appreciate the speedy reply! Great looking pup too (and do I spy a Tune M1?)

I have a few waxed canvas items (Filson ,etc) and they've kept me pretty dry. But am I right thinking that the Nylon/Cotton blend on the BTM is going to be that much better for actually staying in the field and staying dry? I won't end up hating myself in a two-day downpour? Haha.

Topo Topper Rincon thread here --> https://rokslide.com/forums/threads/truck-topper-pop-top-canopy-camper.416839/

I am unsure; the wax portions will keep you dry for as long as the wax stays within the material. At some point it wears off. The poly hamstring and hip portions will not keep you dry at all. Walking through stuff they are fine, but if it was actuially raining, I would wear rain pants becuse of the poly portions.

Totally makes sense. I think they're worth a shot, I've been impressed with the quality of their other stuff. $130 for a MiUSA pair of pants is a steal and a half. Thanks again.

Got the pants and super impressed so far. Question for you guys though. I'm kinda between sizes ... do they stretch out in any noticeable way? Trying to decide on sizing up and just cinching up the ol' belt, or down, meaning they're a bit snug everywhere else.

I can't imagine they will stretch out, they are fairly stretchy in general, if you think they're tight id size up. I felt like they ran large and were a touch baggy. But im in the no ass camp.

Strictly the belt area?
I likewise suffer from noassitis. Reckon sizing up is still the ticket though. Forloh's CS mentioned they might stretch some but like you said, they're already pretty stretchy.

@sndmn11 yep, just the belt area! I'm a 32, the 32 are a bit big, but the 30's are approaching hipster tight.

I don't think they will stretch in the belt anymore than a typical pair of jeans would.

Im a 32 in jeans and kuiu pants. I went 34 based on their reccomend and they are OK. I have to wear a belt but otherwise not awful fit everywhere else.
